Hivernage (Luxury District)

Hivernage is Marrakech's five-star hotel and nightlife district, just southwest of the Medina. It started as a quiet residential area in the 20th century and is now home to the city's grandest hotels, including La Mamounia, set along palm-lined avenues and private gardens.

It's quiet by day and busy after dark: this is where most of the city's casinos, cocktail lounges, and nightclubs concentrate, drawing an international crowd.

Hivernage isn't a shopping district, but the dining is high-end, with several fine-dining and fusion restaurants. Stay here for five-star comfort and nightlife within a short taxi ride of the historic center, rather than a riad inside the Medina walls.
