Indicative prices per group for private Morocco tours, from $120 to $3,420
Every price on this site is for the whole group, not per person, and it's indicative: your own vehicle, your own driver-guide and door-to-door pick-up, priced for the route as written. The final figure comes once the trip is personalised around your dates, your pace and where you want to stay. This page puts all 21 itineraries side by side so you can see what a given length of trip costs, and what to budget on top of it. For daily spending money once you're here, see the money and tipping guide.
A private Morocco tour costs from $120 for a day trip to $3,420 for a long specialist itinerary, across 21 tours. Prices are per group rather than per person, and cover private transport, an English-speaking driver-guide and door-to-door pick-up; multi-day tours also include accommodation.
The table below breaks that down by trip length. Every figure is a group total in US dollars, and each row links to the tours in that group.
The per-day column is worth reading alongside the total. A day trip carries the whole cost of a vehicle and a driver-guide over a single day, while a longer route spreads those same fixed costs across the whole trip. Beyond that, what moves a price most is the standard of accommodation and how far the route travels, not the number of days on its own.
| Trip length | Tours | Price range | From, per day |
|---|---|---|---|
| Day trips | 5 | $120 – $200 | $120 |
| 2–3 day tours | 4 | $140 – $650 | $70 |
| 4–5 day tours | 3 | $680 – $930 | $170 |
| 7+ day tours | 9 | $950 – $3,420 | $95 |
Indicative starting prices per group, in US dollars, as shown on each tour page. The final price is set once the itinerary is personalised.
Day trips cost $120 to $200 for the group. That covers a private vehicle and driver-guide for the day, picking you up at your riad or hotel and bringing you back the same evening, with no accommodation to pay for.
There are 5 of them, all leaving from Marrakech: the Agafay desert at sunset, the Ouzoud waterfalls, Ait Ben Haddou, the Essaouira coast, and a sunrise hot-air balloon flight.
See them all on day trips from Marrakech, or the full list of tours from Marrakech.
Short tours cost $140 to $650 for the group. The spread is wide because this group holds both a two-day trek from Marrakech and three-day desert routes that cross the Atlas Mountains and end in a different city.
A tour that returns to where it started costs less than one that crosses the country, because a one-way route means repositioning the vehicle and driver afterwards. The Fes to Marrakech desert route is the clearest example of that in this group.
Compare all 4 of them on 2–3 day tours, or see the desert tours specifically.
Four and five day tours cost $680 to $930 for the group. This is the shortest length that reaches the Sahara, spends a real night in the dunes, and still leaves time in the valleys and kasbahs along the way rather than driving straight through.
All 3 are desert routes: Marrakech to Fes via Merzouga, Marrakech to the wild dunes of Erg Chigaga, and Agadir to Merzouga.
See them on 4–5 day tours.
Long tours cost $950 to $3,420 for the group. The range is the widest on the site because it holds both seven-day imperial-cities routes and the specialist itineraries — luxury, honeymoon and photography — where the standard of accommodation, not the length, sets the price.
There are 9 in total, from seven to fourteen days, and they include most of our best-selling routes.
See them on 7+ day tours, or narrow by type: heritage, luxury, family and thematic.
Every tour includes private transport with fuel and A/C, an English-speaking driver-guide dedicated to your group, door-to-door pick-up from your hotel or the airport, and the experiences listed on that tour. Multi-day tours also include accommodation.
In practice that means a modern 4x4 or minivan rather than a seat on a coach, and a driver-guide who stays with you for the whole trip rather than a different local guide in each city. The experiences vary by route — a camel trek in Erg Chebbi, sandboarding, a Gnaoua music performance in Khamlia, a 4x4 circuit of the Black Desert — and each tour page lists its own.
The exact inclusions are printed on every tour page, under the itinerary.
Flights, lunches, drinks, entrance fees and tips are not included. Lunch is the main daily extra: allow roughly €10–€12, or 100–120 MAD, per person per meal at the local restaurants the tours stop at.
Entrance fees to optional sites are small and paid on the day — the Cinema Museum in Ouarzazate is about €5, Telouet Kasbah about €2. Tips for your driver and any porters are discretionary. Drinks, including water, soda and alcohol at hotels, are your own.
For what all of this adds up to per day, and how much cash to carry, see the money, currency and tipping guide.
Per group. The figure shown covers your whole party — the vehicle, the driver-guide and the accommodation for the route as written — which is why it doesn't multiply by the number of travellers. It is indicative rather than final.
Nothing here is a fixed-departure group tour where you buy a seat. Each route is one we operate ourselves, and it's a starting point: the dates, the pace, the stops and the standard of accommodation are all yours to adjust.
That's also why the final price comes from a quote. Once the itinerary is personalised — a night added, a different riad, a larger party needing a second vehicle — the figure changes with it. If a listed route is nearly right, say what you'd change when you request a quote.
Because the vehicle, the driver-guide and the schedule are yours alone. On a fixed-departure group tour those costs are split between everyone on the coach; here your party carries them, and in exchange nothing about the day is decided by anyone else.
What that buys is control: leaving when you want, staying longer where you like, skipping what doesn't interest you, and travelling with a driver-guide who knows your group rather than a rotating cast of local guides.
Because the price is for the group, the cost per traveller falls as the party grows — the same vehicle and guide cover more people.
The time of year affects which routes are comfortable rather than what they cost. Sahara summer heat and High Atlas winter snow both shape what's worth doing, which is why the season matters most for choosing a route, not for budgeting.
