PK25 Lagoon Zone

PK25 is one of the most important lagoon-side visitor zones in Dakhla, named for its position roughly twenty-five kilometers from town. It is strongly associated with kitesurf camps, watersport schools, accommodation compounds, and direct access to the flat, windy lagoon that made Dakhla internationally known among riders. The atmosphere is resort-like but sporty, with daily life organized around wind forecasts, lessons, equipment rental, rescue boats, and communal meals. For beginners, the shallow lagoon conditions can be reassuring, while more advanced riders appreciate the space, consistency, and ease of launching close to their accommodation. Unlike the city center, PK25 is not a shopping or nightlife district; it is a purpose-built activity base where travelers usually stay, eat, and ride in the same general zone. Transfers are needed for the airport, town restaurants, markets, oyster farms, and desert excursions such as the White Dune or Imlili.
