Spanish Mosque Sunset Hike

The walk to the Spanish Mosque is Chefchaouen’s classic sunset route, rising from the eastern side of the Medina near Ras el-Maa toward a hillside viewpoint above the town. The path is straightforward but exposed, so comfortable shoes, water, and layers are useful, especially because Chefchaouen’s mountain setting can feel cooler than Morocco’s lowland cities. From the top, the blue Medina appears compact beneath the Rif slopes, with Plaza Uta el-Hammam, the Kasbah, and the old gates visible within the surrounding townscape.
