The Old Medina offers the most atmospheric walking route in Casablanca, linking Bab Marrakech, everyday souk lanes, the Sqala bastion, and the port-facing edge of the historic quarter. Unlike Morocco’s larger imperial medinas, Casablanca’s old city is compact, practical, and lived-in, with leather goods, textiles, small cafés, and residential alleys woven into the route. The walk is best approached slowly, allowing time for street scenes, market browsing, and a short pause near the restored fortifications between the medina and the port.
