Mount Toubkal Trek

Mount Toubkal is the highest peak in Morocco, the Atlas Mountains and North Africa, rising to 4,167 meters above sea level. The usual trekking approach begins in Imlil, a High Atlas village around 1,740–1,800 meters that serves as the main base for guided climbs, refuge routes and longer valley circuits. The classic summit itinerary is commonly organized over two days, with a first stage to the Toubkal Refuge and an early ascent the following morning. Conditions change sharply by season and altitude, so warm layers, suitable footwear, water, sun protection and careful pacing are essential. Guided planning is strongly recommended for unfamiliar high routes, winter snow conditions and rapid altitude gain.
