Meski & Source Bleue
Meski and Source Bleue de Meski offer one of the valley’s most approachable oasis experiences. Located about 15 km from Errachidia, the site is centered on a spring and pool surrounded by palm trees, with nearby views toward Ksar Meski and the surrounding oasis landscape. Travelers often pause here during the drive south to swim, picnic or simply rest in the shade before continuing toward Aoufous and Erfoud. The atmosphere is informal and locally rooted, with the spring functioning as both a visitor stop and a reminder of how precious water is in this arid environment. The surrounding palm grove creates a cooler microclimate, contrasting sharply with the dry slopes and desert air beyond the oasis. While the facilities are simple, the setting is memorable because it condenses several defining elements of the Ziz Valley into one place: water, palms, traditional settlement and the road to the Sahara. A small entrance fee is often mentioned in traveler reports, though current official pricing should be confirmed on arrival. Meski is particularly suitable for families, road-trippers and visitors who want a short, low-effort stop that still feels connected to the region’s oasis culture. It is best visited during daylight, when the pool, palms and ksar views are most visible.
