Taghazout Centre
Taghazout Centre is the historic village core and the easiest place to feel the original character of this small Berber fishing settlement. The neighborhood is compact, walkable, and closely tied to the beach, with fishing boats pulled onto the sand, surfboards stacked outside rental shops, and cafés overlooking the Atlantic. Once known primarily for fishing, the village now serves as the social heart of Morocco’s most famous surf coast. Accommodation ranges from simple guesthouses and surf camps to small ocean-view stays, making it practical for travelers who want to be close to lessons, board rental, and casual restaurants. The atmosphere is relaxed and informal, with mornings shaped by swell forecasts and evenings centered around sunset terraces. Shopping is modest rather than extensive, focused on surf supplies, beachwear, local crafts, souvenirs, and argan products. This area is ideal for first-time visitors, solo travelers, surfers, and anyone who wants the convenience of staying near the main beach and cafés.
