Surfing the Point Breaks
Ride Taghazout’s famous Atlantic waves, from beginner-friendly beach breaks to the long right-hand point break at Anchor Point.
About This Activity
Surfing is the defining experience in Taghazout, shaping the rhythm of the village from early-morning board checks to sunset cafés above the Atlantic. Beginners generally start on gentler beach breaks around Panorama Beach or nearby protected spots, while confident surfers look north toward the right-hand point breaks that made the area famous. Anchor Point remains the signature wave, celebrated for long, powerful rides during the stronger autumn and winter swells. The main surf season generally runs from October to April, though smaller summer conditions can still suit first lessons and relaxed practice sessions. Board rental is widely available through surf shops, camps, and beachfront schools, making it easy to travel light and organize sessions locally.
