Northern Palm-Grove Kasbahs
The northern palm-grove kasbah areas extend the Skoura experience beyond the best-known landmarks. Travel sources identify Dar Lahsoune and Ait Ben Abou as located further north in the palm grove, while other Skoura kasbah names such as Dar Ait Sidi el-Mati appear in regional descriptions. This part of the oasis is less easily reduced to a single attraction and is better understood as a dispersed heritage landscape. Earthen towers, farm tracks, palms, and village life create a quieter, more exploratory setting for travelers with time and suitable transport. The area reflects how Skoura’s architecture was not limited to one famous monument but spread across a network of family residences, agricultural estates, and fortified structures. Because official tourist boundaries are not clearly documented, visitors should treat this as a practical zone rather than a formal district. A local guide, guesthouse host, or arranged driver can help connect the kasbahs without intruding on private homes or working farms. This area is ideal for repeat visitors, photographers, and travelers who want to move beyond the main stop and understand the wider scale of the oasis.
