Olive-Grove Descent Trail
The Olive-Grove Descent Trail is the heart of the Ouzoud experience, linking the upper access area with the base of the waterfalls. The route is generally described as a clear walking path from the top to the bottom, and at least one source notes that a guide is not necessary for the basic visit. Along the way, the scenery shifts between shaded olive trees, open viewpoints, small rest stops, and glimpses of the gorge below. The trail provides a gradual sense of arrival, allowing visitors to hear the water grow louder as they move closer to the lower pools. Barbary macaques are frequently associated with the walking route, and visitors should enjoy them from a respectful distance rather than treating feeding or touching as part of the activity. The path can be uneven in places, so sturdy shoes are more practical than sandals, especially after rain. This area is ideal for active travelers, families comfortable with walking, and visitors who want to experience Ouzoud as a landscape rather than simply as a single viewpoint.
