Fint Oasis

Fint Oasis is one of the most rewarding natural and cultural excursions from Ouarzazate, located about 12 kilometers, or 7.5 miles, from the city. Set within dry desert terrain, it appears as a green pocket of palms, villages, and cultivated life, creating a striking contrast with the bare plateau that surrounds Ouarzazate. The oasis is made up of four villages and has also been used as a film location, strengthening its connection to the cinematic identity of the region. Unlike the monumental experience of Aït Ben Haddou or the architectural focus of Taourirt Kasbah, Fint offers a slower encounter with landscape and oasis settlement. Visitors typically come for short walks, photography, tea stops, and views of palm groves against rocky hills. Suggested visit timing from travel sources is about 1.5 hours exploring the oasis, plus driving time from Ouarzazate, making it a practical three to three-and-a-half-hour excursion. A fixed entrance fee was not verified, and many sources imply self-guided visiting is possible, although private guided tours and transfers vary widely in price. Travellers should approach respectfully, remembering that the villages are lived-in communities rather than open-air museums.
